I deeply enjoy several things about this blog. One of them is the constant flexing of my creative muscles. To keep my six-day-a-week publishing schedule, I have to think constantly about what I’m going to do next. It’s led me to try things I wouldn’t have otherwise. This photo was something I tried that I didn’t know whether would work out. It did, fortunately! Not everything I’ve tried has. You’ve been unfailingly kind and patient when that’s happened.

Sometimes my creative muscles become exhausted. I’ve been in that place lately. When that happens, I know I just need to take a little break. It’s like overdoing it at the gym. Rest up for a few days, maybe a week. Focus on cardio for a while, maybe. But then get back to it.

That’s what I’m about to do here. Next week I’ll suspend my usual schedule in favor of a Favorite Photos Week. I last did one in 2015, where I just shared multiple posts a day of favorite photos I’ve made with a short blurb about them. Those posts are easy and quick to write and give my brain something different to do than the usual.
