A Guide to Iron Range Food Trucks

There’s really something special about food trucks. It’s all about the passion behind the food that they make and the convenience of having them right where they need to be. And of course, the unique and niche creations that they whip up! Lucky for us, there are plenty of Iron Range food trucks to be found. This summer visitors may run into a ton of them. To help you find them, will be covering some favorites! Read on for our Guide to Iron Range Food Trucks

Food Truck Favorites

We have a tasty bunch of Iron Range food trucks, but there are a few that stand. Their unique menu items and featured dishes are must-tries. There’s even a couple of new arrivals on the mobile meal scene!

The first Iron Range food truck worth mentioning is Curbside Crepes. As the name implies, they use crepes as a medium for a wider menu. They make regular appearances at festivals and weekly events. Give their pizza crepe a try before diving into their dessert crepes. This is a deliciously sweet and savory combo that should not be passed over!

A few other Iron Range food truck favorites that are easy to find include Street Tacos and Eats and The Ice Cream Truck. You might even say they make a winning combination!

New Food Trucks Worth Finding

Let’s cover a new food truck on The Range!

Grilled Cheese Galore features an ‘Iron Ranger’ grilled cheese with all of the fixings. This food truck will likely making a big splash at a ton of events this summer. When you find them make sure to give their Iron Ranger a try!

Music in the Park and Other Regular Appearances

Food and music go together like mac and cheese! Luckily, there are multiple Music in the Park events on the Iron Range that bring out the trucks. Stop by Chisholm’s weekly Pocket Park performances and Virginia’s Music at Olcott Park, or Biwabik’s biweekly concert in Carl Schuster Park. Find times, locations and info on the bands on our event calendar.  Olcott Park in Virginia, MN is the site of weekly outdoor music events in the summer, plus disc golf, festivals, a beautiful fountain and more.

Some other frequent haunts for Iron Range food trucks include the mini golf course Greens on Foreteenth and Virginia Market Square, a weekly farmer’s market on Thursdays at Silver Lake! Take a look at our event calendar for more information about these and other food truck-friendly activities on The Range.

Celebrate Iron Range Food Trucks

Every year in September ReVive Virginia hosts the Food Truck Festival on Chestnut Street (the “main drag”) in Virginia. More than 20 food trucks arrive fully loaded and ready to serve. There’s music, and Chestnut Street businesses like Canelakes Candies and others open their doors for a day of fun and food. The 2024 event will be on September 21st.

Part of the charm of any summer festival or event is obviously the food, and to not explore that aspect is to miss out on part of the integral experience. Going with an experimental, adventurous, or exciting option is the very core of exploring, discovery, and of travelling to new places.

So discover the summer flavors that we have here on The Range, because our culinary inventions are as much a part of our area as our history, events, and our outdoors. Bon Appetite!
